Spectrum to acquire multi-client surveys off Brazil and Lebanon

Spectrum ASA has entered into an agreement with the administrator of the Dolphin estate to acquire the 2D multi-client surveys in Brazil Santos and Campos Basins and 3D survey offshore Lebanon.

The company has not disclosed commercial or any other details regarding the acquisition of the data.

To remind, Dolphin Group, a Norway-based seismic acquisition specialist, filed for bankruptcy after an attempt to restructure the company failed back in December 2015.

Simultaneously with the company filing for bankruptcy, its subsidiary Dolphin Geophysical AS filed a petition for bankruptcy with its relevant court.

Dolphin’s UK entity as well as the Singapore and US businesses were not a part of the bankruptcy estate and continued to operate. Dolphin was delisted from Oslo Børs, the Norwegian stock exchange, on December 28, 2015.

To remind, seismic specialists TGS and Petroleum Geo-Services in September agreed principal terms and conditions for jointly acquiring the majority of the multi-client library of Dolphin UK Ltd.
