An independent panel of industry experts has picked the PGS towed streamer EM solution as the best new Geoscience technology of 2014. The jury was unanimous, firmly placing PGS towed streamer EM as the sole winner in this category. The winners were assessed on their proven ability to address problems that pose roadblocks to efficient operations.

The entries were judged on four criteria:

  • Innovation in concept
  • Suitability as a practical solution to a real oilfield problem
  • Potential for improving efficiency or safety
  • Potential for improving profitability

“I am delighted that the E&P’s panel of industry judges has recognized the PGS Towed Streamer EM solution as the best new geoscience technology in 2014. This marks a further success for PGS in identifying new and better avenues to the complicated process of finding and producing hydrocarbons around the world,” said Jon Erik Reinhardsen, CEO Petroleum Geo-Services.

“This is a tough competition where new engineering technologies compete with the best new solutions from every segment of the upstream petroleum industry. PGS is very proud and pleased that the towed EM solution has been recognized for its innovation in concept, design, and application,” commented Guillaume Cambois, EVP Imaging & Engineering, PGS.
