BC praises new Douglas Channel LNG deal

B.C’s Minister of Natural Gas Development Rich Coleman welcomed news that the partners in the Douglas Channel LNG consortium have completed the transfer of ownership and are moving forward on their proposal.

AltaGas, who helped lead the partners to this positive outcome, has been a strong proponent for LNG in British Columbia. They are firmly committed to the project. With this greater certainty, the consortium is well placed to achieve the long-term vision for their Kitimat-based LNG facility,” Coleman said.

According to him, the Province is looking forward to working with the proponents, the community and First Nations to help them reach a final investment decision.
