LNG Limited extends Fisherman’s Landing site lease

Perth-based LNG Limited on Monday said it has extended the lease of the Fisherman’s Landing LNG project site until March 31, 2017.

In the agreement with Gladstone Ports Corporation, LNG Limited, through its unit Gladstone LNG, secured an option to further extend the lease of the site in Gladstone, Queensland until March 31, 2018, under the same terms.

As LNG Limited’s managing director and CEO Maurice Brand said in the statement, the extension of the lease enables the company to recommence the development of the Fisherman’s Landing LNG project.

He noted that the company is still looking for gas supplies for the project and is negotiating deals with potential buyers supplying the Asian market.

The Fisherman’s Landing LNG project is a 3.5 mtpa export terminal in the Port of Gladstone, Queensland at the site that is capable of accommodating up to four LNG trains with a combined capacity of 7 mtpa.
