Petrobras Expects Industrial Gas Demand to Rise

Last week, Petrobras’ Director of Gas and Energy, Graça Foster, said that the demand for natural gas in the industry sector in 2011 was 40 million m3 per day and is forecast to grow 4% next year.

The director said the performance of Gas Brasiliano Distribuidora (GBD), which performed at its best in November, reached 1.1 million m3/day. Petrobras acquired Gas Brasiliano in July this year.

The company has an exclusive natural gas distribution service in the Northwest of the State of São Paulo, in an area covering 375 municipalities and supplies to industry, commerce, residents and serves this region.
