Thanks to the extension, Safe Caledonia will continue providing accommodation support at the Captain field in the UK sector of the North Sea for seven additional weeks, until early February 2026. Valued at around $6.4 million, this extension leaves Ithaca with three weeks of options available.

Reese McNeel, Prosafe’s CEO, said: “This significant extension of the contract reflects the excellent operational capabilities of the Safe Caledonia, especially into the harsher North Sea months. We look forward to continuing providing industry leading gangway connectivity.”

Safe Caledonia is a moored with thruster assist (TAMS) semi-submersible ASV with beds for up to 454 persons.

The 1982-built unit started its contract with Ithaca Energy at the Captain field in June. As reported by Prosafe, the vessel delivered a commercial uptime of 94% during the initial period.
