Spain: MSD Names Technip’s New Construction Vessel Deep Orient

Technip officially named its latest new vessel today, Feb. 11th, in Vigo, Spain. The Deep Orient, a newbuild medium construction vessel, will be dedicated to subsea construction and flexible pipelay projects. During the ceremony held at the Metalships & Docks (MSD) shipyard in Vigo, the ship was named by the vessel’s godmother, Véronique Delormel, wife of Frédéric Delormel, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Subsea at Technip.

HHI, Toisa Ink Contract for Advanced Multipurpose OCV, South Korea

Toisa Ltd. signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction of a Multipurpose Offshore Construction Vessel (MOCV) designed by Dutch design office Ulstein Sea of Solutions. The DNV classed vessel is a customized version of Ulstein’s Deepwater Enabler design.

Take a video tour on board a Mark V, the world’s largest and the most sophisticated RoRo vessel. The Mark V vessel has a length of 265 metres offering a cargo volume of 138 000 cubic metres over six fixed and three hoistable decks.

SOFF Contracts STX OSV for an Eco-Friendly OSCV, Norway

Solstad Offshore ASA (SOFF) has entered into a new contract with STX OSV AS for building of a construction service vessel (CSV) of type OSCV 03. The vessel’s contract value is around NOK 600 million (approx $109.2 Mln) and she will be delivered during 2nd quarter 2014.

EXMAR LPG Orders Eight MGC Vessels from Hanjin, Philippines

EXMAR NV has announced that together with TEEKAY LNG PARTNERS L.P. they have successfully closed their 50/50 LPG joint-venture. In addition, the EXMAR LPG BVBA joint-venture has placed an order for up to 8 Midsize Gas Carriers (MGCs) with Hanjin Heavy Industries Corporation with the vessels to be built at Subic Bay in the Philippines.
