Abu Dhabi Executive Committee Approves Funds for New Port on Delma Island

 

The Executive Committee of Abu Dhabi Executive Council today approved funds for a designing and constructing a new port on Delma Island.

The approval was given at a meeting chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority (TCA) and member of the Executive Council.

The project which is aimed at boosting tourism at the island as part of development plans for the Western Region, features a 300-meter concrete wharf for heavy loads, floating docks to serve more than 280 boats, as well as buildings and terminals for fishermen, sea sports, passenger ships and services.

Also, the committee approved the awarding of a major sewage system project in Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain to serve 3000 new houses for nationals.

The committee also commissioned the Municipal Affairs Department to oversee a unified guide for the design of customer service centers and another guide for the requirements of people with special needs at those centers.

It also reviewed the operation manual of the municipal system which is aimed at elevating the efficiency and performance of municipalities.
