ACE Winches Academy Manager Appointed to Vice Chairman of IMCA Committee, UK

David Moxey, Training Academy Manager at ACE Winches has been appointed Vice Chairman of the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) Competency and Training Committee, with immediate effect.

This key committee, chaired by Gavin Smith, Offshore Learning and Development Manager at Subsea 7, is central to the work of the organisation providing guidance on competence, assurance and assessment as well as training. IMCA describes its work in competence and training as a core activity, enabling members to adopt the organisation’s framework to create their own in-house schemes for assessing and recording the competence of people working in safety-critical and other roles.

The appointment will also provide David with a seat on IMCA’s Marine Management Committee and the Overall Management Committee.

Commenting on his selection, David said, “I am honoured to have been invited onto this committee in such a senior role, to further the work of the Association. I look forward to hosting some of our committee meetings at ACE Winches’ new multi-million pound manufacturing, hire and office facility in the heart of Aberdeenshire, where we offer bespoke training to clients and staff alike”.

Representatives from Bibby Offshore, DOF and Technip are amongst those that sit on the IMCA Competency and Training Committee.
