Afai: Steel-Cutting for the First Urban Sprinter

Afai Southern held, on September 10th, a steel-cutting ceremony for the first vessel of 7×2000 pax urban sprinter project for the STATE of RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil.

Mr. Alexandre, the representative of ship owner pushed the button to start cutting the plate. The project agent, representatives of BV, leaders of Afai as well as the team members jointly witnessed the cutting aluminum plate of the vessel.

The vessel, made of aluminum alloy, has the overall length of 78.4m, beam of 14.8m, passenger capacity of 2000, with completely symmetrical arrangement at the bow and stern. The vessel is outfitted with two wheelhouses and four Azimut thrusters and can sail two-way without turning round.

The first six vessels of the project will be fueled by diesel and the seventh vessel will be featuring dual-fuel technology.
