AGR Appoints Vice President of Its Global Software Solutions Team

Global oil and gas service provider AGR has appointed the Norwegian Petter Mathisen as Vice President of its global Software Solutions team.

Petter will be responsible for marketing and developing AGR’s software portfolio, including its industry-leading P1™ and M²™ products.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Petter brings a wealth of oil and gas industry experience to his new role.

Prior to joining AGR he was Sales Manager Scandinavia for National Oilwell Varco Downhole. He has also worked for Schlumberger in Russia, with ReedHycalog in Stavanger and globally for SPT Group.

Welcoming Petter to AGR, Åge Landro, CEO AGR, said: “We are delighted to have appointed someone of Petter’s calibre and experience to this important role with AGR.

“Our Software Solutions team has achieved considerable success with innovative products such as P1™ and M²™ and I am confident it will continue to go from strength to strength under Petter’s leadership.”

AGR recently launched version 4.0 of its P1™software, which allows operators to maximise performance during well construction projects. Redesigned with the end user – the well engineer – in mind the latest version of the product is 100% faster, significantly more useable and interactive, allowing the customer to communicate online with AGR’s support team.

Developed to make logistics and materials management easier for the oil and gas industry, the company’s M²™ software has already proved its worth in the toughest of challenges. The product was used to successfully service the movement of more than 25,000 tonnes of equipment 8,000 miles from Aberdeen to the Falkland Islands for an AGR-managed drilling campaign.
