AGR names new head of well management business

AGR, a well construction and engineering project management, reservoir and field management services company, has appointed Tore Øian to lead the company’s Well Management business in Norway.

AGR said on Thursday that Øian would operate out of the company’s Stavanger office.

He has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has managed drilling projects for operators including Statoil and Det norske, now Aker BP. Øian has a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger.

Svein Sollund, AGR’s Chief Executive, said: “We have been providing Well Management support to our clients in Norway for over ten years and have worked on various drilling projects ranging from the first time licensee, multi-client rig campaigns to development and production well delivery projects.

“Tore is hugely experienced and knows the company well both as a previous client of us and as part of AGR’s integrated well delivery team. His immediate priorities in the new role will be to further shape a nimble and competitive well management proposition on the Norwegian Continental Shelf combining our flexible contracting models and in-house access to technical skills and software tools covering the entire upstream supply chain.”

AGR added that its Well Management business is currently managing its 533rd well for Engie on the Norwegian Continental Shelf having reached a 500 well milestone in 2014.
