Amec Foster Wheeler wins Ennore LNG terminal contract

UK-based LNG engineer Amec Foster Wheeler on Monday said it has been awarded a contract by Indian Oil LNG Private (IOCPL) for the LNG import terminal in Ennore, Tamil Nadu, on India’s east coast. 

According to the company’s statement, the contract follows the completion of a front end engineering and design contract for the terminal in 2012.

Amec Foster Wheeler did not reveal the value of the contract.

Under the new contract, Amec Foster Wheeler’s responsibilities include the supervision of works related to various engineering procurement and construction contracts for the LNG regasification and marine import facilities, as well as the LNG storage tanks.

In addition, Amec Foster Wheeler will also undertake project management consultancy activities for the entire project, from engineering development and construction phases, through to pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of the terminal.

Under the first phase of the project, the terminal would have a send-out capacity of 20 mmscmd with two 180,000 cbm storage tanks.

Amec Foster Wheeler is set to complete the 42-month contract at the end of 2018.
