Anholt Subsea Cable Almost Operational

Danish transmission operator, Energinet.dk, has informed that the cable connecting the 400MW Anholt offshore wind farm and the onshore grid is back in one piece.

According to the company, the second half of the repair of the damaged cable is performed faster than expected. The damaged section of cable has been removed and replaced with a new piece.

Energinet.dk said it expects the cable to be back in operation Monday, March 23.

However, the date might change since the cable must now be successfully tested.

The company said it is not yet possible to say what caused the fault.

“The damaged part of the cable is now being studied in a laboratory,” said Energinet.dk.

Furthermore, the cost of the repairs are also as yet undetermined.
