Aqualis Offshore to analyze risk for Aibel

Marine and offshore engineering consultancy firm Aqualis Offshore has been contracted by Aibel to conduct human factors analyses for a number of the EPC contractor’s ongoing projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Aqualis informed on Monday that, under the contract, the company’s risk management specialists will conduct human factors analyses of Aibel’s work on the Snorre Expansion Project, the Dvalin project and the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 project.

The contract value is undisclosed.

Bjørn Håvard Brænden, director – Norway & Europe, Aqualis Offshore, said: “Essentially, we will cover the end-user perspective throughout engineering and suggest changes where we see that there is room for misunderstanding or improvement.

“These are highly effective methods of reducing operational risk and removing as many potential safety critical operator errors as possible. We possess specialist knowledge within this field, and we are pleased that Aibel has opted to utilize this to the benefit of both Aibel and their customers – Statoil and DEA Norge.”says

Aqualis Offshore will mainly be integrated in Aibel’s engineering teams and the work will be executed by Aqualis Offshore’s Norwegian operation.
