Autronica Wins Prelude FLNG Contract, Australia

Autronica Fire and Security AS, Division Oil & Gas, said it has recently been awarded the prestigious contract from Emerson for the delivery of integrated fire and gas detection on the world’s largest floating liquefied natural gas facility.

Autronica Fire and Security AS, headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, is one of the world’s leading suppliers within fire and gas detection systems. The delivery is the largest single order ever in the company’s 55 year history.

The delivery comprises AutroSafe 4 Integrated Fire and Gas Detection System, including smoke, heat, flame and gas detectors. The contract will secure jobs and lead to increased production at Autronica’s facilities in Tønsberg, Norway, where the gas sampling systems are manufactured.

The floating liquefied natural gas facility ”Shell FLNG” is 488 meters long and 74 meters wide, equal in length to a total of 4 soccer fields. A fully-loaded FLNG will weigh about 600,000 tons. The project is named ”Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG)”, and the facility will operate at the gas field Prelude offshore of Western Australia.
