Belgium: WSS Wins Bulk Ships Agent Award Third Year Running

Belgium - WSS Wins Bulk Ships Agent Award Third Year Running

For the third year running, Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) won the Bulk Ships Agent award at the prestigious International Bulk Journal (IBJ) awards ceremony on Monday 14 November in Antwerp.

The IBJ Awards, dedicated exclusively to the maritime dry bulk industry, recognise achievements by individuals and companies improving and enhancing efficiency, safety and environment protection in this global market.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s new Ships Agency Re-Defined concept was a winning factor in the competition. With the new Ships Agency Service Agreements, each customer is served by an experienced Global Agent working in the customer’s location and coordinating all the port calls for them. This gives customers the benefits of someone who speaks their language and works in the same time zone, as well as the advantage of predictable pricing. A central point of contact for order handling and global coordination for marine products and technical services comes with defined deliverables and pre-agreed prices.

“We are very pleased to have received recognition for the way we have streamlined the ships agency business,” commented Mr. Jan Cuyt, General Manager for WSS in Belgium who accepted the award. “The IBJ Awards is truly an international event in the maritime industry and it remains an important meeting place for us with more than 30 nationalities represented,” he concluded.

Mr. Frederic Fontarosa, Business Director Ships Agency was also present at the event. “Winning this award three times in a row serves as a great motivation for our global team who is working around the clock to offer our customers premium worldwide service. By now, Ships Agency Re-Defined has really proved itself by remaining an unmatched concept in the business.”
