BGP, TGS to Shoot Seismic Offshore East Africa

China’s geophysical services company BGP has signed a three year Cooperative Agreement with Norway’s TGS to acquire, process and market multi-client 2D and 3D seismic data in East Africa.

The agreement includes an initial 2D multi-client 13,135 km seismic survey in west Morondava, offshore Madagascar. The newly acquired data will extend and infill the existing regional 2D multi-client data acquired by TGS in 2001 and 2005.

BGP and TGS will extend their long term relationship by this cooperation. Two sides are expecting to build strong portfolio of multi-client projects in East Africa by taking advantage of their respective strengths.
