Bibby scoops IRM services deal in North Sea

Bibby Offshore, a subsea services provider, has secured a two-phase multimillion pound contract with an undisclosed oil and gas and production company.

Bibby said on Tuesday that the contract, awarded in April, would see the company carry out IRM services across a number of the operators’ North Sea assets.

Engineering work for this project has started, with the initial offshore phase due to begin in the second quarter of 2018 and a further campaign scheduled for the third quarter.

Bibby Offshore’s multi-role diving support vessel, the Bibby Topaz, will be the primary vessel utilized to carry out the base workscope.

The Bibby Topaz was built by Fosen Mekaniske Verksteder in Norway. It is a 107-meter long, 22-meter long, DP-2 vessel with a deadweight of 5,000 tonnes.

The company will also utilize the multi-purpose dive support and offshore construction vessel Bibby Polaris for support activities if required.
