Bilfinger Secures EUR 25 Mln Grant for Foundations Plant in Poland

European Commission has approved subvention for offshore wind turbines foundations plant in Szczecin, Poland.

Bilfinger Mars Offshore’s project is in accordance with Innovative Economy Programe’s priorities and receives from the European Regional Development Fund financial subvention for about 25 000 000 euro.

“It is a very good information for our investment. Documentation prepared by the company has been assessed positive by experts of European Commission and proves the project is in compliance with EU politics. The subvention enables us buying of state of the art plant equipment and realising pioneering production technology in offshore branch,”  said Dirk Kassen, the president of Bilfinger Mars Offshore.

According to Bilfinger, the plant, located in north-west coast of Poland, will produce monopiles used in the offshore wind farms for water depth of 30 meters, jacket foundations for water depth of 50 meters and transition pieces, with a direct shipping route to the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.
