Bocimar Continues Buying Spree

Bocimar, a subsidiary of the CMB, expanded its fleet with five newbuilding Capesize units that will all be built by Imabari shipbuilding (Japan).

It concerns four 206.000 dwt units: two fully-owned scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2016 and two ships taken on time charter for a period of ten years scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2015.

The fifth ship, a 180.000 dwt vessel, will be owned in joint venture with National Coal Supply Corporation (NCSC), a fully-owned subsidiary of the Israeli Electric Corporation. NCSC has chartered the vessel for a period of ten years.

Bocimar also exercised its option to acquire a further two newbuilding Handysize bulkers. This brings the total number of ships on order with Samjin to 12 units.
