Boskalis’ Duo Officially Named
Royal Dutch Boskalis’ two multifunctional vessels, the NDURANCE and NDEAVOR were officially named at Keppel shipyard in Singapore on 15th January 2014.
Both 99m long and 30m wide vessels belong to the new N-class that have been built by ZPMC in Shanghai.
This OSD designed vessels have diesel-electric propulsive power, with two stern thrusters, two forward retractable thrusters and one internal tunnel thruster. They have a six-point mooring and DPII system, and can provide accommodation for 104 persons on board. The overall deck area is 2,100 sq m, with two onboard store cranes.
The first vessel, the Ndurance, is deployed as a cable laying vessel while the second vessel, the Ndeavor, which was not initially configured as a cable-layer was built to exactly the same design as the Ndurance.
The vessels are also suited as accommodation vessels, construction and support vessels for the mooring of FPSOs and for transporting X-Blocks or quay wall elements.
