Brazil: OGX Selects Groundbreaking Landmark DecisionSpace Desktop Software

Landmark Software and Services, a Halliburton business line, announced today that leading Brazilian exploration and production company, OGX Oil and Gas, will migrate all users of geophysical and geological software applications to the Landmark DecisionSpace(R) Desktop system. Introduced by Landmark late last year, DecisionSpace Desktop is groundbreaking software technology that allows multi-user teams to collaborate in a common workspace, dramatically increasing productivity.

OGX explored and tested the capabilities of the DecisionSpace Desktop technology as part of a Landmark pre-release program launched in early 2010. OGX determined that the software suite greatly enhanced its workflow capabilities with significant improvements in productivity.

Users reported that they could interpret up to two times faster than before by using the collaborative, integrated environment provided by DecisionSpace Desktop software and the OpenWorks(R) project database.

The DecisionSpace Desktop suite is built on top of the OpenWorks(R) project database, which has become the industry standard for geological and geophysical data. This open data management solution ensures data integrity and business continuity by providing seamless access to existing data and applications, creating the only truly multi-user workspace for seismic-to-simulation workflows. Through the OpenWorks database, instant updates are available so that decisions are based on the most current analysis of data and critical real-time information is provided through the lifecycle of an asset.
