British Ambassador to Brazil Visits Petrobras

Petrobras’ CEO, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, welcomed the British ambassador to Brazil, Alan Charlton, and the British consul-general in Rio de Janeiro, Paula Walsh, at company headquarters today (01/17). During the visit, they talked about cooperation opportunities in the oil and gas area and about the prospects for the energy industry in Brazil.

The ambassador highlighted the success of the existing partnerships between British and Brazilian companies and invited Petrobras to participate in events to foster trade relations between the two countries. Gabrielli noted that companies operating in the North Sea have developed technology and expertise in the oil sector and now have increasing opportunities in Brazil due to the demands of the pre-salt. The Company’s CEO also highlighted Petrobras’ activities in the UK, where the company has trade and exploration & production technology development offices. The Oil and Gas manager for the British Consulate-General, Renato Cordeiro, also attended the meeting.
