Cargo Vessel Michelle C Enters CIC Shipyards for Repairs (China)

Recently, CIC-Shipyards was selected as the best bidder for the repair project of the general cargo ship Michelle C. During the repair period, the shipyard provided the best service to the customer and obtained their approval for both repair quality and service.

The main repair scope of the vessel was the emergency repairs for the tail-shaft. Once getting the enquiry from the owner, CIC-Shipyards made the quotation immediately and submitted a high competitive quotation on the same day. Meanwhile, the yard also positively made the pre-preparation for the vessel’s arrival. After the ship moved alongside the pier, the shipyard immediately carried out the inspection and found that the repair of propeller shaft was very special since the vessel’s propeller was CPP type.

During the inspection, the yard found the junction of the gearbox and the coupling should be opened and the oil pipe should be renewed for maintaining the standard pressure of CPP control system. This was a comparatively complex repair job, so the yard studied carefully, discussed with owner’s superintendent and finally formed a suitable solution. Now, the repair work is under the way in good order.
