CARIS Celebrates World Hydrography Day with Presentation (Canada)

World Hydrography Day is celebrated each year on June 21st, which is the anniversary of the founding of the International Hydrographic Office in 1921. The day recognises the achievements of the hydrographic community and raises awareness of the importance of hydrography.

This year, CARIS, the world’s leading marine GIS organization, marked World Hydrography Day with a presentation on the importance of people in hydrography. Hydrographers are key in ensuring safe navigation and enabling international maritime trade, and therefore their work impacts on everyone. Currently, the hydrographic user community in 85 countries utilizes CARIS software to meet their requirements. CARIS’ clients include the world’s major civilian and naval hydrographic offices.
