Jinhai Heavy Industry Promotes Transformation and Upgrading by Innovation

In the Clarksons’ list for March, Jinhai Heavy Industry’s hand-hold orders rank top 9 and top 3 respectively in international and domestic shipping industry. As a giant shipyard located in Zhoushan Archipelago, Jinhai Heavy Industry has been insisting to promote transformation and upgrading by innovation,and achieved the honor of “National High-tech Enterprise”, “Industry Leading Key Enterprise in Zhejiang Province”, and so on.

The Trilogy of Shipbuilding

In Jinhai Heavy Industry’s initial stage, he put forward the trilogy of shipbuilding, which is transforming from building a ship to building fast, then to building a nice ship and he always held to the principle of making products finer and perfect. In 2009, the first two 110,000DWT crude oil tankers were delivered successfully on the same day, which made history of delivering large oil tankers in Zhejiang Province. Subsequently, the 176,000WT Bulk Carriers and 320,000WT VLCCs come out gradually, which establish and break the record over and over.

To achieve the spanning type promotion, Jinhai Heavy Industry persists in optimizing production process, improving manufacturing workmanship, and implementing green shipbuilding technology. Besides, a great number of projects have been selected as the major provincial technical projects, such as “integration of hull, outfitting and painting”, “technological development and application of building super large superstructure in modularization”, as well as 76 items of welding procedure qualification have been accomplished, among which much workmanship has reached domestic advanced level.

In just a few years time,Jinhai Heavy Industry has delivered over 40 large-scale vessels, carried forward production of 320,000 WT VLCCs, and achieved the trilogy of shipbuilding successfully, transforming from building a ship to building a nice ship.
