China: Repaired Bulk Carrier Banzai Leaves CIC Changxing Shipyard

M.V. Banzai which is managed by a German shipping company was smoothly repaired by CIC Changxing Shipyard in mid January, 2012. The work scope included regular docking repair, the sandblasting & painting of 7 cargo holds, and other repair of pipes & valves in engine room.

Since the repair period encountered the Chinese lunar New Year holiday, it brought great difficulty to fulfill the task on time.

The yard made good organization, deployed the labor force, and speeded up the repair progress. During the most time of repair period, the team from the repair manager to the workers continued working till midnight. As a result, the whole repair task was finished on the first day of Chinese New Year. The owner’s superintendent was satisfied with the repair quality and the performance of the shipyard.

Due to the good impression on the repair of MV Banzai, the owners have decided to award the repair project of its sister vessel to CIC-Shipyards. She will come to CIC Changxing Shipyard around the 10th of February.
