Yuexin Shipyard Lays Keel for Maintenance Work Vessel YX3161

On May 3rd 2012 the keel laying ceremony for 66m Maintenance/Work Vessel YX3161 build for Tidewater was held in 1# dock yard in Yuexin Shipyard. Applying the design of WARTSILA SHIP DESIGN SINGAPORE PTE LTD, the vessel is classed to American Bureau of Shipping as a Maintenance Work Vessel.

With length overall 66m, breadth moulded 20m, depth moulded 5.5m and draft 4.5m, she can carry 500m3 of fuel oil and 600m3 of potable water. At the same time, the vessel can carry 60 men and boasts a maximum speed of 13 knots.

The vessel is the first unit to be equipped with electric propulsion system to reduce the environmental pollution caused by the diesel generator. In accordance with the PSPC requirements, the double bottom and double hull enables her to have safer operation.
