CIC Boluomiao Shipyard Launches LR’s Welding Certification Test (China)

On 29 Nov CIC Boluomiao Shipyard held a test of LR’s Welding Certification.

In order to meet the developing challenges of global ship repair industry, the certification from the Classification Societies is essential to strengthen the manufacturing technology and cater for the needs of various clients. Additionally, the yard pays great attention to training and requires for the special operation to be handled by qualified specialists. In order to have a further cooperation with the Classification Societies, the shipyard has launched the certification test with NK, GL and etc. The management team paid high attention on this issue and fully supported the significant LR certification test. There were 14 employees arranged to take the test.

The LR certification test included flat welding, vertical welding and horizontal welding. The test was evaluated by LR’s representatives in respect of visual inspection and mechanical experience. Moreover, the shipyard made a further regulation for the welding qualification, which has laid the foundation for boosting the welding level of the yard.
