CIC Jiangsu Shipyard Starts Sea Trials for 47.500 DWT Bulk Carrier

On March 15th 2012, the leading ship (CIS47500/B-04)of four 47.500 DWT bulk carriers for Tai Hang Shipping Co., Ltd. built by China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. undocked from outfitting quay No. 3 and started sea trial.

The bulk carrier measures 199.99m in length overall, 32.26m in breadth, 16.20m in depth and designed draught of 10.70m. The vessel is powered by MAN B&W 6S46MC7 engine capable of producing 6450kW of power, the designed speed for the vessel is 13 knots.

Upon completing the sea trials Jiangsu Shipyard will hand over the vessel to its owners.

China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu Shipyard) Co., Ltd. is located in the by-river development zone of Jiangdu City, Jiangsu Province, whose yard area is against Jia River, bordering on Yangtze River with deepwater, slow water flow and stable bank lines, owning geographical advantages, forming golden water front for shipbuilding.
