CMA CGM Rejigs India, MEG Services to East Africa

French container shipping company CMA CGM is to reorganize its Noura Express and Swahili services connecting India, Middle East Gulf and East Africa.

Operated with four 2,200 TEU vessels, Noura Express will stop Salalah call and add to its port coverage Mundra, effective July 24, and Port Victoria, effective July 31.

Moreover, there will be a direct service to Mogadishu from Mundra in 18 days instead of in transhipment.

Within the new configuration, the reefer cargo service from Port Victoria to India and to Europe will have a weekly frequency instead of fortnightly.

Noura Express service new port coverage will include Mundra (India), Khor Fakkan (UAE), Jebel Ali (UAE), Mombasa (Kenya), Mogadishu (Somalia), Port Victoria (Australia) and Mundra (India).

Operated with six vessels up to 2,700 TEU, Swahili service linking India, Middle East Gulf to Tanzania will be revised, with Mundra and Port Victoria calls being transferred on to Noura Express.

Effective July 21, Swahili service new port rotation includes Nhava Sheva (India), Khor Fakkan (UAE), Jebel Ali (UAE), Longoni (Comoros), Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Nacala (Mozambique), fortnightly.
