Construction Work on Wave Energy Project in Port MacDonnell Begins

The construction work on a wave energy project worth around $7 million, located off the cost of Port MacDonnell, has commenced.

The wave energy unit will provide electricity for about 1000 homes.

Oceanlinx expects that the unit will be installed by the year end.

The unit will be tugged by a boat from Adelaide in October and, according to the CEO of Oceanlinx, the unit must be towed during a period of quiet weather to ensure smooth operation, ABC News reported.
