COSCO Delivers Another Stingray to MSS

COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard has delivered the subsea support vessel “Maersk Involver” to offshore marine contractor Maersk Supply Service (MSS).

The delivery follows the “Maersk Installer”, who was handed over in October this year.

The two vessels are part of the $470-million contract a subsidiary of COSCO Shipyard Group secured back in August 2014 to build four subsea support vessels.

As reported earlier, the newbuild vessels were initially scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2016 and the first half of 2017. However, the four Stingray-class ships were postponed with contract delivery dates planned from summer 2017 to spring 2018.

The keel laying ceremony for all four subsea support vessels took place on December 9, 2015.

The vessels are of MT6027 Marin Teknikk-design with length of 137 metres, and a beam of 27 metres.
