Cosco Orders Four Vessels from NACKS

Cosco Shipping’s Hong Kong subsidiary has placed an order for four multipurpose vessels with Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS), SinoShip news portal reports.

The multipurpose vessels, with a capacity of 36,000 dwt each, will cost overall USD 134.6 million. This order forms part of Cosco’s fleet renewal program. According to the contract, the first two vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2015 and the next two in 2016.

Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS) is a large-scale shipbuilding joint venture company established by China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. (KHI).
