COSCO Shipping Splashes New ULCV at NACKS

China’s COSCO Shipping Lines launched its latest 19,000+ TEU newbuilding on March 1 at a compatriot shipyard.

The COSCO Shipping Aquarius, valued at USD 128.3 million, is the company’s fourth unit built by China’s Nantong COSCO KHI (NACKS).

Featuring a length of 400 meters and a beam of 58.6 meters, the ultra large container vessel (ULCV) is scheduled to join its owner in June 2019, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

Ordered in September 2015, the 197,000 dwt unit has a nominal capacity of 19,273 TEUs.

The three previous vessels from the batch, namely COSCO Shipping Aries, COSCO Shipping Leo and COSCO Shipping Capricorn, were delivered from NACKS in January, April and July of 2018, respectively.
