Octomar’s FCS 2206 – named Octostar – will also be used to transport passengers and act as a standby and security vessel.

The 22-meter vessel is the new improved version of the FCS 1905. The company has already delivered 11 units of the new model worldwide.

The vessel was built in aluminum at Damen Shipyards Singapore and can sustain a speed of up to 30 knots with added external firefighting system, dedicated davits for the launch and recovery of divers, observation class ROV, and night observation gear.

Ricardo do Amaral, general manager of Octomar, said: “We selected the FCS 2206 based on the high quality of the construction, its proven reliability, and the after-sales service package.”
