Decom North Sea Hosts Lunch and Learn (UK)

Petrofac’s decommissioning director is among industry speakers taking part in the latest event being hosted by offshore oil & gas decommissioning forum Decom North Sea (DNS).

The lunch and learn will take place on Wednesday, September 18, at the Palm Court Hotel, Aberdeen, from 12-2pm.

As well as senior staff from Petrofac Offshore Projects & Operations providing an insight into supply chain engagement, representatives from Sabre Safety and Simon Storage will give presentations on their experience in offshore decommissioning and raise awareness of the services they provide.

DNS chief executive Brian Nixon said: “Decom North Sea’s lunch and learn events continue to provide a great opportunity for attendees to network and gain new business connections and expertise from key players within the decommissioning industry.

“This month’s presentations will raise awareness of services provided within the industry and allow attendees to share their knowledge and best practises.”

DNS has grown since its inception in 2010, to have more than 220 members drawn from operators, major contractors, service specialists and technology developers. With annual decommissioning expenditure in the North Sea forecast to top £1billion within a few years, DNS was set up to tackle the main areas of weakness, which are inhibiting decommissioning supply-chain capability.
