Dragon's Caspian Well Flows at 1,653 BOPD (Turkmenistan)

Dragon Oil plc today announced the results of successful completion and initial testing for the Dzheitune (Lam) 28/178 development well in the Caspian Sea, offshore Turknenistan.

The Dzheitune (Lam) 28/178 well was completed as a single producer to a depth of 2,010 metres. The well tested at an initial production rate of 1,653 barrels of oil per day. The leased rig is currently drilling the Dzheitune (Lam) 28/179 development well.

The company, which today reported profit for 2012 of US$600mn (2011: US$648mn), 7% lower than the previous year, expects to complete 13 to 15 wells and two workovers in 2013 and around 20 development wells per year in 2014 and 2015.
