Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), one of the world’s leading shipbuilders, today announced an order for two state-of-the-art liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

DSME Nets $405m for LNG Duo

The contract, announced at the Korea Exchange, was signed with a European owner and is estimated to be worth around $405 million.

DSME did not disclose any other details on the contract except that the delivery of the vessels will take place in 2016.

This latest order secures the leading place for DSME in the LNG newbuild sector. The membrane type LGN carriers that DSME builds provide superior performance, fastest speed and excellent steering at lower building and fuel costs.
