Eimskip Takes Over Jac. Meisner

Reykjavik-based shipping company Eimskip has acquired the forwarding company Jac. Meisner Internationaal Expeditiebedrijf B.V. based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

According to Gylfi Sigfússon, President and CEO of Eimskip, the transaction is a part of Eimskip’s strategy of external growth and will further strengthen the company’s worldwide reefer logistics services.

Jac. Meisner specializes in custom brokerage, veterinary and agricultural inspection and receiving and checking of frozen and chilled cargo with origin all over the world for import into European countries.

The company’s annual turnover amounts to approximately EUR 7.5 million and with expected synergy with Eimskip the estimated EBITDA margin of the company will be 8-9%, Eimskip said.
