Elengy hits LNG milestone

Elengy, a unit of GDF Suez, has achieved a record of 9,000 deliveries since 1965, which represents 12 percent of all LNG cargoes that have been delivered worldwide since the start of the LNG industry, the company said in a statement.

These 9,000 shipments (about 275 million tons), which originated from 11 countries, have been unloaded safely in Elengy LNG terminals by 150 different LNG carriers.

From the first tanker with a capacity of 25,500 cbm (Jules Verne) to the Q-Max (267,000 cbm), this number represents more than one third of all LNG tankers ever built, Elengy added.

Elengy operates France’s three LNG terminals: Montoir‐de‐Bretagne on the French Atlantic coast and Fos Tonkin and Fos Cavaou on the Mediterranean.
