Engie and Beijing Gas Group on Tuesday confirmed recent reports that the French energy giant has been selected to supply 10 LNG cargoes to Chinese city gas supplier.

According to Engie’s statement, it will deliver 10 cargoes of LNG to BGG over the period November 2016 through February 2017, totaling 900 cubic meters of natural gas.

Cargoes will be delivered to the Caofeidian terminal, in Northern China, where it will be stored, regasified and transported into Beijing’s gas network.

“LNG deliveries will notably involve floating storage in order to manage the winter peak shaving and flexibility needs of BGG,” Engie said.

Engie and Beijing Enterprises Group, the parent company of BGG, have signed a strategic partnership in 2015 in different domains including training, infrastructures, energy efficiency and LNG.
