ERA NET MARTEC: Good Ideas Wanted for Research Projects

ERA NET MARTEC Calls for Good Ideas of Maritime Technology (Denmark)

A new call gives universities, research institutions and companies a possibility of applying for means for developing maritime technologies.

The Danish Maritime Authority takes part in a European network on research and development of maritime technologies (ERA NET MARTEC). The network is financed by the EU.

As part of the tasks of the network, a call was opened in December 2012, making it possible to form so-called cross-national consortia in the network participating countries on projects within maritime technology. Universities, research institutions and companies alike can take part in these consortia.

As part of the call, a “brokerage event” will be held in Paris on 5 February 2013.

All Danish universities, research institutions and companies, etc. can participate. As regards financing of any Danish participation in the call, reference is made to the Danish Maritime Fund, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation, the Danish Business Authority and the Environmental Protection Agency, etc.

The call is open now and until 30 April 2013.

The goal of ERA-NET MARTEC is to establish a permanent network focusing on the development of maritime technologies through transnational calls for maritime technology programmes. The calls will typically be smaller than calls under the EU framework programmes for technological research and development and make it possible to develop more nationally focused positions of strength.

The participants in the network are institutions financing research as well as ministries and agencies responsible for research and development in this field. A wide number of European countries participate in the call.
