EWC Starts Sengkang Field 2D Seismic Acquisition, Indonesia

Energy World Corp Starts 2D Seismic Acquisition of Sengkang Gas Field in Indonesia

Energy World Corporation announced the commencement of 2D seismic acquisition on January 27th, 2013 along 178km lines covering prospects and leads throughout some of the undeveloped structures within Sengkang PSC Block.

The company previously said there are a considerable number of reefal buildups and structures in the Sengkang Contract Area. These reefal buildups and structures were classified by AWT as leads, indicating exploration potential which require more seismic data acquisition or evaluation to resolve positioning issues before drilling.

This 2D seismic acquisition program is being conducted to confirm new gas reserves to supply the Sengkang LNG Plant and will be followed by exploration drilling.

In accordance with seismic compliance requirement, SKKMIGAS officers and other related governmental officers witnessed this parameter test. The acquired geophysical data will be analyzed and interpreted by a joint team of EEES and Bandung Institute of Technology (LAPI-ITB), the most acknowledged national petroleum consultant, under the supervision of SKKMIGAS. This information will also be used to facilitate the optimization and development of the next phases of gas production from the Sengkang Gas Field.
