Field Operator of the Year award goes to Det norske

Det norske, an independent Norwegian oil company,  has won the Field Operator of the Year award for “excellent operation of the Greater Alvheim Area.” The 2015 Gullkronen award is organized by Rystad Energy in Oslo.

Three companies had been nominated for the Field Operator of the Year award: Det norske, Norske Shell and Statoil.

The candidates represented relatively mature fields, but the latest field in production impressed the panel of judges. Alvheim, with Det norske as operator, is one of the latest fields put in production on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The justification is that Det norske has delivered on many levels simultaneously – reserve replacement, regularity, HSE and establishing a new hub in the area.

For several years, Rystad Energy has awarded the Gullkronen to oil companies to acknowledge high performance in the categories exploration, business development, field and project development and the Field Operator of the Year award.

“We are very pleased to be recognized for our performance over many years in developing and operating the Greater Alvheim Area. I would like to share the award with all my colleagues on the Alvheim FPSO and with the support organization that has contributed to the achievement resulting in the award,” says Geir Solli, SVP Operations of Det norske.
