FloWave joins AIRTO

The FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility has become member of AIRTO, a UK’s innovation, research and technology association.

AIRTO, the Association for Innovation, Research and Technology Organisations, brings together the country’s leading universities, businesses and research organisations to encourage enterprise and the commercial take up of scientific and technological advances.

According to FloWave, AIRTO members’ together represent a significant component of the UK’s innovation ecosystem employing over 57,000 scientists, engineers and technical staff with a combined turnover in excess of £5.5 billion.

Welcoming the new relationship Stuart Brown, FloWave’s CEO, said: “FloWave is delighted to stand alongside other leading ocean energy organisations including the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and EMEC, and will work with all members to highlight the incredible opportunities offered by the UK’s emerging wave and tidal energy sectors.”

FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility is owned by the University of Edinburgh, and is designed for academic research into wave and tidal current interactions.
