Flux Group Bags Another Johan Sverdrup Contract
- Business & Finance
Flux Group’s subsidiary Active Service has been awarded a contract for the provision of 40 hydraulic umbilicals and hoses for a wellhead control system to the engineering and manufacturing company CRE8 Systems AS.
The equipment will be installed at the Johan Sverdrup field. Flux Group has now secured Johan Sverdrup-related contracts within all its product segments.
Flux Group’s two other subsidiaries, Valvision and Norwegian Piping have also been awarded contracts for the Johan Sverdrup project.
Flux Group acquired Active Service, the former hoses and couplings division of Fluid Control, in November 2016.
“Johan Sverdrup is a prestige project, and winning this contract supports our acquisition of Active Service and further validates Flux Group as an attractive partner on the Norwegian continental shelf,” says Ådne Grødem, CEO at Flux Group.
Since production start-up in 2014, Active Service has secured several contracts for the provision of a variety of types of umbilicals, hose bundles and related services with multiple customers, such as field operators, rig companies and major EPC and services companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
‘’We have had great success with our umbilical deliveries, and are very pleased that CRE8 chose us as their preferred supplier. This fortifies our position and contributes to increased market share in the short-length umbilical segment,’’ says Erlend Fremstad, managing director at Active Service.
The deliveries to CRE8 under this recent contract will start immediately.
