FORCE Keeping Busy

Canada’s test center for tidal energy technology, FORCE, said it expects periods of marine activity to continue until mid October, including barge anchoring, cable recovery, and test mooring trials.

Marine operations will be performed at Parrsboro wharf, West Bay, and the FORCE site in the Minas Passage.

This exercise is related to the FAST underwater monitoring platforms, supporting FORCE’s ongoing work to better understand the environmental conditions at its test site.

Furthermore, FORCE advised that the barge may exit and return to its berth at the Parrsboro wharf a number of times during this period. For safety and logistical reasons, the Parrsboro wharf may be closed for short defined periods during the operation. Any closures or other notices will be posted. FORCE is working with all wharf users in an effort to minimize disruption to routine activities.
