Framo scores marine pumping systems deal for Höegh LNG’s FSRU

Norwegian marine pumping systems specialist, Framo, an Alfa Laval company, signed a contract with Höegh LNG for the delivery of pumping systems to their new floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).

The contract is for one unit, with an option for three more units which are currently being built at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea.

Framo added that the similar solution has been delivered to Shell’s floating LNG facility, Prelude FLNG.

In January, Höegh LNG signed a contract with Samsung Heavy Industries for one FSRU and three optional units. The FSRUs will have a storage capacity of 170,000 cubic meters and a regasification capacity of 750 MMscf/day, with full trading capabilities.

The firm FSRU is scheduled for delivery in May 2109, while the optional units would be delivered with six months intervals from the delivery of the firm vessel.
